Administer provisions of regulations requiring the safeguarding of classified data up to and including Top Secret Sensitive Compartment Information (SCI)/Special Access Program (SAP) associated with research projects performed by the Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI). This position will interact on a consistent basis with: GTRI management, professionals and security staff; federal security personnel. This position typically will advise and counsel: GTRI management, professionals and security staff; federal security personnel. This position will supervise: NA.Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Provide security direction and advice to GTRI personnel.
Job Duty 2 -
Serve as interface with federal agencies regarding application of new and ongoing security programs.
Job Duty 3 -
Coordinates the tracking, destruction, transmission and dissemination of Top Secret information.
Job Duty 4 -
Prepare for government security inspections and coordinate any follow-up actions required.
Job Duty 5 -
Collaborate with laboratory management on security work-related efforts impacting their operations.
Job Duty 6 -
Coordinate visitor control requirements and special security subcontractor activity.
Job Duty 7 -
Monitor and accommodate construction project work with regard to physical and computer security issues.
Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Other Required Qualifications
Valid State of Georgia Unrestricted Electrical License; Georgia Driver's License. Work requires following extensive safety precautions. May be exposed to weather conditions, hazardous materials, extreme heat, fumes, dust, ,hot surfaces, noise, rotating machinery, poor quality lighting and live electrical parts or wiring.
Four to five years of job related experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications
American Society for Industrial Security International (ASIS), Certified Protection Professional (CPP), National Classification Management Society (NCMS)
Preferred Educational Qualifications
This job requires working knowledge of specific governmental regulations and requirements related to safeguarding and processing of classified information accessed through GTRI including access and use of associated information management systems.
