Hodges University is currently seeking an Assistant Vice President of Student Services (AVPSS) to support the Office of Administrative Operations. The AVPSS will report directly to the Executive Vice President of Administrative Operations and will provide strategic vision and leadership for essential units within the Division of Student Services. The AVP’s areas of responsibility includes, but is not limited to, Admissions, Student Experience, Registrar, Financial Aid, Auxiliary Services, First Impressions, Student Accounts, and Veterans Services, including five direct reports.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and management of all student services.
  • Provides leadership and oversight for enrollment management strategies, initiatives, and efficiencies.
  • Develops long- and short-term plans for the student services departments to meet the University’s mission and strategic plan.
  • Formulate various policies and procedures as it relates to enrollment management and student services operations.
  • Monitors annual budgeting and financial forecasting related to student services departments for expense adjustments, if needed.
  • Develops and fosters communication with students, employees and community partners which address student concerns, as well as encourages the overall growth of the University.
  • Provides administrative support to the Executive Vice President of Administrative Operations for various projects, as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant director-level or above professional experience in student services in an institution of higher education;
  • Proven strong managerial and collegial leadership in student services or related academic areas;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of administrative support areas including fiscal, human resources management, and information technology;
  • Demonstrated positive leadership in developing collaborative relationships with internal and external constituencies;
  • Successful experience in conflict resolution and long-range planning;
  • Demonstrated understanding and leadership concerning student recruitment, retention and graduation, and advocacy;
  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is strongly preferred, but may be substituted for significant experience in student services operations.
