Part-Time Lecturer (Economics)
Job description
General Summary
The Department of Economics is accepting applications for a part-time lecturer to teach introductory courses (e.g. Principles of Micro- and Macroeconomics) with the possibility of teaching upper level courses.
Principal Duties and ResponsibilitiesTeaching duties will include a number of obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including, but not limited to: meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing student work and performance, preparing syllabi and course materials, providing copies of syllabi and course materials to the supervisor upon request, assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University schedules, and performing related departmental duties as required.
Completion of a Master's degree in Economics or a closely related field is required.
Prior teaching experience at the college level is preferred.
Evidence of professional development activity is preferred.
Additional qualifications specific to the area of economics are desirable.
