Finance Manager, CGHPI - Georgetown University Law Center

The Financial Manager for the Center for Global Health Innovation and Policy (CGHPI) is responsible for financial management of the full departmental budget and for the management of all sponsored projects to ensure compliance with sponsor's requirements and University's policies and procedures. The Finance Manager will work closely with the Center's program staff. They will be responsible for:
  • Supporting budget forecasting for the Center and its projects, budget execution and working with relevant offices within Georgetown on payment processing, and financial reporting to funders. These may include annual and ad hoc reports as required by grant agreements.
  • Working with sub-grantees to ensure financial requirements are met as well.
  • Serving as liaison to subgrantees' financial offices.
  • Ensuring compliance with any grant agreement budget processes and Georgetown. Specifically, the position will complete monthly budget actions.

The Finance Manager will report to the Executive Director of the O'Neill Institute, with secondary supervision by the Faculty and Program Directors of the Center for Global Health Innovation and Policy, and work closely with other Georgetown University program staff to financially manage the Center's portfolio or project-based work. The Finance Manager will coordinate extensively with central departments at Georgetown to effectively manage grants and related expenses, and produce reports.

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting with 5-7 years of experience managing large budgets in a reputable organization
  • Experience with managing budgets funded by Foundations with associate reporting requirements preferred
  • Experience coordinating with subgrantees preferred
  • Experience training and mentoring on financial processes, especially among non-Americans, a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong presentation and persuasion abilities

  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Should be proactive, able to work well independently, but also engage effectively with colleagues and communicate financial data in plain English
