The University of North Texas Health Science Center (HSC) is one of the health-related institutions participating in the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC) Executive Committee. TCMHCC was created by the 86th Texas Legislature in Senate Bill 11 (SB 11) to address gaps in mental health care for children and adolescents in Texas and to enhance collaboration across academic departments of psychiatry in Texas. Through the Consortium, Texas is provided a unique opportunity to implement evidence-based programs throughout the state. The implementation will be achieved through the collaboration of the state’s many health-related institutions, state agencies, and nonprofits, building on the ability and success of existing programs at some of the institutions, developing new programs in conjunction with local school districts and local community mental health providers, and addressing the shortage of psychiatrists.

Position Summary

The position will work alongside the node principal investigator on the two research projects funded by the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium. UNTHSC along with our partners at JPS/Acclaim have embarked on these projects with two hubs – one at UT Southwestern and one at Dell Medical School. The first one is in regards to the Youth Depression and Suicide Research Network to support the development of a Network Participant Registry and characterization of systems and interventions to examine statewide population health outcomes. The second one’s main goal is to build a Childhood Trauma Network to determine the mental health outcomes of children and adolescents in Texas exposed to trauma.

·Provide assistance to PI by organizing files, information, and data
·Assist with IRB-related form completion and filing
·Become familiar with research protocols
·Attend project meetings as necessary
· Manage and respond to project-related email
·Monitor the project budget
·Track progress and compile data for progress reports
·Assist in preparing reports and presentations
·Assist research coordinators as necessary
·Provide general office support for PI
·Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
