Position Summary

Assistant Professor – Health Programs

(East Lansing, MI) The Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Michigan State University, invites applications for a faculty position in veterinary neurology. Faculty appointed in the Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences are responsible for classroom and laboratory instruction, research and scholarship and clinical practice and instruction. Conduct of scholarly work that expands the art and science of veterinary medicine is expected and should include both principal and collaborative work that reflects the faculty members' interests and specialization. In addition, the faculty member will participate in clinical and preclinical teaching of veterinary medical students, interns, and residents, and serve the academic community through various committee and administrative assignments.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Veterinary Medicine

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent degree and be eligible for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in Michigan (limited academic licensure is available). Specialty veterinary internal medicine board certification or eligibility in Neurology (ACVIM or ECVN) and completion of veterinary medicine residency in Neurology or Neurosurgery is also required.
