Clinical Systems & Integrations Manager

Position Summary

Clinical Systems and Integration Manager leads a Team of highly proficient professionals who work to support the Clinical and Laboratory functions of the College of Veterinary Medicine and reports to the Senior IT Manager. This position manages the overall operation of the Clinical Information Systems teams and their efforts, including functional implementation, analysis, testing and documentation, assisting with the development of long-range and short-range plans for the systems, and coordinating the functional operation of new and existing systems. This position is responsible for identifying workflow and data quality problems, the efficiencies and effectiveness of departmental technology, and for applying high degree of competence, knowledge and creativity to resolving major problems. This position will evaluate system operations and investigate improvements as necessary, will collaborate with other departments in the selection and set-up of applications suitable to business needs, and will participate with the information technology team in the analysis, recommendation, preparation, and implementation of clinical solutions. This position is responsible for meeting clinical IT project deadlines.

Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills

Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program; and five to eight years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in an information technology area related to the duties to be performed, including experience overseeing large, complex or critical information technology projects; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in the following technologies:
o Common workstation and server operating systems
o Knowledge in the areas of Virtualization and Storage systems
o DICOM and DICOM routing, archiving and display
o Clinical Information Systems:
o Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
o Hospital Information System (HIS)
o Radiology Information System (RIS)

• Experience in the healthcare industry, particularly delivery systems, and business-related processes, technology and practices, functions and architectures
