Position Summary

Responsible for instructing first and second year medical students in the following areas: health-related Spanish language skills; development of language skills needed to review medical information in Spanish; development of skills to explain diagnostic procedures and medical terms in Spanish and; acquiring an understanding of cultural issues related to Spanish-speaking patients.

Additional duties include recruitment and training of Spanish-speakers to perform as patients.

Required Degree

Doctorate

Minimum Requirements

PhD is required.

Desired Qualifications

3-5 years Spanish teaching experience. Experience in an academic medical environment.

Work Hours

Depends on number of students enrolled in the course. Possibly up to 15 hours per week.
