The Global Research Institute is currently seeking a Senior Research Analyst to support and improve the Institute’s Blockchain Lab efforts responsible for designing and implementing cutting-edge Blockchain training and research efforts.

The successful candidate will be a dedicated team player with track record of having collaborative partnerships across institutional and/or disciplinary boundaries and exceptional planning and organizational acumen with an eye toward collaborative leadership, team and relationship building. Depending on qualifications, the successful applicant may hold an affiliate appointment as research faculty in an appropriate department and/or interdisciplinary program at William and Mary.

This position is based in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Required Qualifications

•Advanced degree in a relevant discipline, such as economics, public policy, statistics, computer science, finance.
•Experience with API frameworks, such as Python’s Flask or Django
•Experience programming on a smart contract platforms, such as Ethereum, EOS or Hyperledger
•Experience with front-end and back-end development, such as Javascript
•Several years of experience with advanced expertise in blockchain/ distributed ledger technology.
•Excellent analytical skills with ability to recommend solutions
•Demonstrates a track record of delivering high quality outputs for Blockchain projects or programs, including evaluation reports and/or peer reviewed publications
•Demonstrated

Preferred Qualifications

•A doctoral degree in a relevant discipline, such as economics, public policy, statistics, computer science, or finance.
•A track record of fundraising and/or grant writing
•Experience working with faculty and/or practitioners on curricula development
•Experience managing and mentoring data problems
•A track record of publishing rigorous, peer-reviewed social science research in a reproducible manner (i.e. making data and statistical code publicly available to enable independent, third party replication)
•Experience engaging with policymakers and practitioners from the global Blockchain community
•Ability to integrate sample surveys involving human interviews, administrative data, and/or social media-based data with remotely sensed data to address real-world problems
•Experience working within such fields as financial inclusion and digital identity,
•Experience engaging with policymakers and practitioners from the Blockchain community and/or supporting the training and development of students interested in the technology.
