General Summary of Position:

Under the general direction of the Principal Investigator or designee, the Project Director manages the day-to-day operations of short term and multi-year research projects. The Project Director is responsible for the implementation of research projects from inception to completion and manages and coordinates these activities.

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Masters’ degree in a public health, behavioral or health care field
  • 10+ years of related experience
  • Proficient in use of productivity software (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, EndNote, Adobe Acrobat, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of web-based databases (e.g., REDCap)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal requirements for the conduct of human studies
  • Experience working in and/or with academic institutions and federal research grants
  • Outstanding communication skills, both the oral and written. Excellent ability to effectively communicate with diverse study participants, community organizations, faculty and staff
  • Outstanding organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations

Additional Considerations:

  • Experience in working with government health agencies
  • Knowledge of geography and communities in Central and Northeastern Massachusetts

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in assisting investigators and government officials with preparation of peer-reviewed publications or reports, and submission of NIH grant applications
  • Prior experience in working in communities

  • All staff must have gone through human subjects protection training, and active certification for human subject studies (e.g., CITI certificates).
