The Training Manager oversees work relating to the delivery and facilitation of workforce development training and assures innovation in training delivery. Working across all externally funded training programs, the training manager (1) ensures the quality of educational technology products which range from single (one day) sessions to multiple (weeks/months) programs and use a variety of modalities (2) pilots new training approaches in order to reduce obstacles to accessing training resources and increase engagement with our training audiences, and (3) provides instruction to other staff, faculty, and subject matter experts in course delivery and use of technology. In addition the Training Manager will contribute to the development of trainings and educational media (E.g, live, archived, online, and blended) on emerging public health issues, topics of importance to our training audiences, and support Principal Investigators and Program Managers in data collection, evaluation, communications with stakeholders, and audience outreach.

Introduction to Public Health:

Our task, as public health professionals, is to use our knowledge, skills, and passion to ensure that conditions exist so that all people have the potential to live healthy and productive lives. This requires understanding the causes of health disparities and effective interventions to promote health. But, it requires that we go further than that. We must engage in activities that advocate on behalf of the underserved and the disadvantaged to assure that they have an equal opportunity to experience conditions to optimize their health. Our activities may be related to health education, working with community coalitions, developing policies, or working with legislators to effect meaningful and lasting solutions. We must work vigorously to assure real improvement. We must exhibit a strong commitment to change, and an understanding of the actions and strategies needed to achieve that change.

Job responsibilities:

Technical Manager

• Using various platforms, facilitate and deliver online training
• Manage training registration
• Instruct subject matter experts in course delivery and use of technology

Program Management

• Act as point of contact to shepherd students through courses, Learning Management Systems, other technical aspects of courses

Reporting

• Collect data from various learning management systems and online analytics that is required for reporting

Support

• Support the Training Centers with technical assistance not mentioned above
• Provide support to end users of LPHI, SHIELD and NEPHTC trainings

Required Skills

• Good interpersonal skills working with multiple collaborative groups with competing priorities
• Basic video editing and audio recording skills
• Experience moderating or leading web-based trainings or meetings (EX: Zoom, AdobeConnect, Skype for business, Kultura)
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs (or ability to quickly master)
• Mastery of MS Office Suite
• Experience with learning management systems including course management and data reporting functions (EX: Blackboard, Moodle)
• Solutions oriented personality
• Ability to pivot between tasks and projects
• Willing to bring questions and concerns to supervisors
• Willing to research and propose solutions
• Demonstrated knowledge of computer and AV equipment (preferred)
