Your opportunity:

The UofT Ancillary Services’ Marketing and Communications is a newly-formed team with a strong focus on brand development and marketing and communications strategies and tactics. The team is highly collaborative with our Ancillary Services partners to ensure the achievement of business objectives. The team is hiring a permanent, full-time Social Media Assistant to meet the many and varied needs of Ancillary Servicesand all of its business units.

Under general supervision of the Director, Marketing and Communications, the incumbent supports marketing and communication strategies, contributes to digital media communications, and provides website support.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Producing promotional and outreach materials
  • Writing and editing digital communications
  • Creating and editing web pages with interactive media
  • Verifying that links to all related websites are up-to-date
  • Advising on social media trends and platforms to enhance digital communication strategies
  • Maintaining information on digital platforms

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Journalism or Communications; or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum two years in work related experience in social media.
  • Experience producing promotional and outreach materials.
  • Experience assessing digital materials for consistency of graphic elements and appropriate layout of text.
  • Demonstrated experience verifying all approvals and feedback are collected and distributed in a timely manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills providing detailed information and providing assistance and support to clients/customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to tackle multiple overlapping tasks.
  • Excellent communications (oral and written) skills.
  • Advanced computer skills (Adobe creative software, Microsoft Office, social media platforms, WordPress CMS).
