The Office for Student Financial Affairs (SFA) is one of the units in the Division of Enrollment Management at the University of Florida. SFA is committed to helping students obtain financial resources to enable them achieve their educational goals.
The Student Financial Aid CRD III for Scholarships, State Programs, and Student Employment within the Office for Student Financial Affairs is responsible for managing a large and complex array of aid programs. This position manages the awarding and reconciliation of State of Florida programs, which constitutes over $170 million in student aid. The incumbent is responsible for implementing regulatory changes and ensuring continued compliance with state and institutional policies. In addition, the Student Financial Aid CRD III supervises a team of five full-time staff members who process institutional scholarships and Federal Work-Study transactions. The individual in this position must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
Responsible for calculating awards for the Florida Bright Futures program and other State of Florida aid programs. This includes testing automated systems, managing funds and reconciliation, and determining eligibility criteria and selection procedures. Conduct regular reconciliation of state program disbursements.
Manages the timely processing of college and departmental scholarships and fellowships. Determines renewal of institutional scholarships and waivers awarded to students based on merit criteria. Responsible for managing all aspects of SFA-awarded scholarships. Assists in eligibility determination for National Merit initial awards and renewal awards.
Administers the Machen Florida Opportunity Scholarship, including following policy to make student eligibility decisions, evaluating scholarship renewal, and managing the awarding of named scholarships.
Responsible for the administration of Federal Work-Study and Florida Work Experience programs for all university students.
Manage a team of financial aid coordinators that handle the processing of other scholarship programs, review student petitions, clear edited records with data partners, and provide guidance and support to student-facing positions.

Master’s degree in an appropriate area; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong holistic knowledge of federal aid programs and the interaction between those programs and institutional and state need- and merit-based aid.
- Must be organized and detail-oriented.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of institutional goals and how decisions surrounding financial aid administration impact those goals.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team toward organizational objective
