Job Description:

Fringe Benefits Consultant/Administration
Provides guidance and assistance to university personnel (Faculty, Teams, Post Doctoral Associates, Housestaff and benefit eligible OPS staff) regarding UF, State of Florida and College of Medicine benefit programs. This detail-oriented and time-sensitive task entails providing information and tools necessary for new hires to enroll in the benefit programs and when applicable provide one-on-one consultation to current employees and pending retirees. Liaison with UF Benefits and Retirement, Gator Care and Florida Blue representatives to investigate and resolves matters of significance including complex and unusual issues and employee benefit concerns on behalf of management. Primary source of information for open enrollment. Serves as the UF COM-J Wellness Coordinator.

Communications - Participant/Department/Organizational
Develop communication tools and provide resources to enable interpretation and enhance employee understanding of UF/State of Florida/College of Medicine fringe benefits programs, provisions and policies.
Design (e.g. Employee Fringe Benefit Summaries) and distribute materials for the website, benefits orientations, open enrollment, etc. Communicate and maintain relationship with individual department contacts for two-way exchange of employee benefits-related information/changes of status. Attend departmental meetings to share information pertaining to UF/State/COM fringe benefits program.

Executive Searches, Employee Recognition Program, other duties
Lead staff administrator for chair and deans’ searches. Works with search committee chairs to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance. Post openings with professional organizations, and in other position appropriate venues. Maintain all pertinent applicant and interview data. Manages all administrative duties – scheduling, candidate’s travel arrangement, and reimbursement of expenses. Follow-up with candidates and deliver important information regarding the recruitment process.
Serves as the UFCOM-J lead administrator and liaison with UF Health Jacksonville and UFJPI for employee recognition (eg. Superior Accomplishment Awards, Cheers 4 Peers) and service recognition award programs.
In a prolonged absence of the immigration specialist (e.g. FMLA), serves as a secondary point of contact for immigration services.

Complete special projects at the direction of the Associate Dean for Administrative Affairs; and Associate Director, Administrative Services.

Expected Salary:

$50,000 commensurate with qualifications and experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
