Job Description:

Works in concert with the UF administration, including the management team of UF Human Resources and the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, to enhance the role and function of administrative offices by establishing and coordinating positive internal and external communications with UF employees and the general public. Supports change management strategies for large institutional changes, performing special assignments that are a matter of high priority as well as strategically analyzing information for websites, various publications, social media, memoranda, and news releases. These functions inherently require emphasis on several areas—customer care, project management, teamwork, and responsiveness.

Supports information/public relations campaigns and strategies as needed to enhance the dissemination of HR, CFO and other UF administrative information and the way in which it is received by target audience(s). Responsible for anticipating the need for and recommending communication projects as well as completing projects as assigned. Supports institutional change management efforts as needed.

Responsible for strategically analyzing information for UF administrative websites as well as writing/editing related content. Using WordPress, responsible for establishing and applying graphic design standards for Human Resources’ and other administrative websites, including regular updates to enhance “readability” and to reflect current events.

Writes and edits content for other electronic media (faculty and staff monthly newsletters, social media, employee handbooks, etc.). Is responsible for associated design and distribution using established communication channels.

Plans, designs, writes copy, finalizes drafts, and coordinates printing and dissemination of communications as part of strategic information campaigns.

Expected Salary:

$50,000 per year; commensurate with experience.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

We are seeking a skilled writer and editor, preferably with experience managing electronic publications.

Two to five years experience.

Beyond a technical ability related to desktop publishing and website management (using Adobe InDesign and WordPress) as well as written and oral communication skills, this position demands a firm commitment to customer service and the ability to manage a wide range of processes.
