Conducts autoclave monitoring to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Completes associated duties including monitoring using biological indicators, checking gauges, displays or printouts, contacting contracted service providers or departmental representative to ensure timely autoclave repairs, data entry, updating databases, and operating UF/state vehicles.
Conducts fume hood monitoring to ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Completes associated duties including fume hood inspection and air flow verification, data entry, maintaining accurate fume hood records, and operating UF/state vehicles.
Completes other duties associated with autoclave and fume hood operation including troubleshooting malfunctioning equipment, providing training to researchers as needed, assisting with equipment commissioning, and providing immediate response to inquiries related to equipment operation/malfunction.
Completes special projects as assigned by the Lab Safety Program Manager including space audits, tracking additional assets, scanning documents, and entering information into databases and other EH&S related duties as assigned.
Performs physical activity involving reaching, lifting, twisting, climbing stairs, walking around campus and driving a UF/state vehicle.Expected Salary:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour; commensurate with education and experience.Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and two years of appropriate experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
Valid Florida driver licensePreferred Qualifications:
EDUCATION & TRAINING: Associate’s degree or Vocational training.
EXPERIENCE: Two years of relevant experience working as a lab technician or technical experience in an industrial setting.
-Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
