In support of the University of Florida’s academic mission and to propel its continued rise in the rankings, the Career Foundations area sets the standard for student and employer engagement within career services. We are generalists that establish the strategy to serve all student and industry populations through a signature experience. We lead the center’s early engagement efforts for students and employers introducing them to the initial stages of recruitment and career development.
The Recruitment Services Specialist proactively engages and collaborates with campus partners and employers to complete administrative functions in the recruitment and industry engagement programming for UF candidates. This position is principally responsible for assisting in the implementation of collect recruitment interviewing, the job posting program and other employer service programs by performing specialized functions to support recruiting activity conducted by the career center for the purpose of cultivating employment opportunities for the purpose of recruitment at the University of Florida.
Responsible for assisting in the implementation of programs and services for the purpose developing and enhancing employment connections for UF students and alumni. Incumbent performs day-to-day scheduling, logistics and correspondence necessary for recruitment relations of the center. Assists the team in conducting college recruitment campus interviews, employer information sessions, career fairs, employment experiences programs, and other employer led events. Implements current and proposed new policies, procedures and services.
Responsible for approving for new employer accounts and industry engagement registrations. Works to ensure employers are legitimate organizations by governmental standards and opportunities posted are accurate for optimal applicant interest. Communicates daily with employers for job postings and recruitment service involvement. Monitors and maintains the appropriate documentation for Third Party Employers. Reviews requests for employer, student and alumni engagement in accordance with Career Connections Center standards, NACE best practices, government requirements, university policies and the Bureau of Labor Statistics standards.
Provides database management support and data tracking for recruitment activities. Enters information and runs reports using the university’s online career portal, Gator CareerLink. Conducts account updates, builds event registrations, and provides customer support functions to employers, students and other stakeholders using the system. Investigates and resolves complex and sensitive service related inquires involving Gator CareerLink and recruitment activities. Collects data on hiring, recruitment, event attendance and scheduling from students and employing partners. Compiles and reports on recruitment activities assessing the effectiveness of efforts.
Works within the career center’s industry engagement plan to support the team in increasing employer engagement and other student success outcomes. Manages recruitment relations email inboxes and other communications tools in support of employer engagement and programming. Provides direct services to employers, students and other stakeholders. Maintains sound relationships with contacts to aid in increasing the recruitment activity within the University of Florida. Works with campus stakeholders to provide support for employers coming to campus to recruit.
Maintains an in-depth working knowledge of the Center’s services and programs. Provides accurate and quality customer service and information for all inquiries in person or via online. Assist the career center in supporting general administrative functions. Participates in career development programs coordinated by the career center; serves as a team player to move interdepartmental collaborations forward. Provides recommendations for improvements in systems, relations and administration. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or higher authority.

Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area and one year of relevant experience.Preferred Qualifications:
EDUCATION & TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, social sciences, student personnel, or human resources (HR)
- One (1) years of experience (minimum) in stakeholder engagement, marketing, sales, career development, career counseling, or HR
- Experience working inclusively with diverse populations
- Knowledge of industry relations, employment trends, student development, career services, marketing, and outreach strategies
- Skilled in computer applications
- Facilitation skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Good presentations skills, listening skills, helping skills, relationship management, and program development
- Ability to work independently and contribute to a team
