The Economics, Accounting and Business Department at Converse College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Accounting at the Assistant Professor level to begin in Fall 2021. For full consideration, review of completed applications will begin October 15, 2020, and will continue until the position is filled.

Teaching areas include financial and managerial accounting principles, upper level accounting including Taxation, Intermediate, Cost, Auditing and other courses, depending on the candidate’s expertise; an interest in occasionally teaching personal finance or Excel is also desired. This professor may also be responsible for offering other business and finance courses as needed.

The teaching load is typically three courses per semester plus one course in January term. Additional responsibilities include advising students, assessing student learning, curriculum development, and providing service to the department, college, and community. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a liberal arts setting.

The department supports undergraduate majors in Economics, Accounting, Business Administration (with concentrations in Finance, Human Resource Management, International Business, Marketing and Sports Management) and Healthcare Administration.

Candidates should have a Master in Accounting degree, or MBA with an Accounting concentration, from a regionally accredited university, with CPA, CMA, or other accounting related designations. Ideal candidates will be excellent teachers, enjoy working with undergraduate students, and be able to collaborate with colleagues from diverse disciplines within a liberal arts environment.
