We are seeking a Temp Software Development Consultant to provide software and computer hardware support for a new project in the Roepe Laboratory made possible by the recent publication of a cryoEM atomic level structure of the PfCRT drug transporter.

Responsibilities will primarily revolve around developing software / hardware infrastructure required for molecular dynamics experiments. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • evaluation of & consultation on existing molecular dynamics software packages (Shrodinger, MolSoft),
  • installation, setup, and troubleshooting of software (including any / all hardware requirements/problems which may arise as a result), possible assembly of custom hardware (if needed),
  • development of results pipeline (e.g. linking together data processing and visualization of results),
  • and assistance in forthcoming molecular dynamics experiments when applicable.

Additionally, the Temp Software Development Consultant will act as an advisor to any and all software and hardware problems / concerns that arise throughout the duration of these upcoming experiments.

  • BS computer science with extensive mathematics background.
  • At least 1 year experience in either academic or governmental research setting using or developing research grade computational methods.
  • Experience in building PC - based workstations a plus
