Requirements

Research Specialist 2 - Georgetown University Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center

The Research Specialist 2 will take on major responsibility on aspects of molecular biology research projects. We are seeking an individual who must possess advanced knowledge and be capable of exercising considerable latitude for independent judgment, performs non-routine and complex laboratory duties requiring advanced technical skills and proficiency for divisional faculty. This position will receive general supervision from the PI and/or the faculty.

The Research Specialist 2 will report to Dr Slingerland laboratory PI to assist in the organization of her laboratory and to carry out supervised research in complex molecular biology related cancer research. This position will also assist in supervision of other junior lab members, teaching lab protocols and assisting with projects as directed by Dr Slingerland. The Research Specialist 2 will also participate in collaborations between the PI's lab and members of other laboratories as required. This individual will carry out grant-funded and Cancer center funded research, assist in supervision of research projects and thereby contribute to the overall mission and goals of Georgetown University.

Qualifications
  • Candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree, a Master's is strongly preferred, and have 3-5 years of work-related laboratory experience with major responsibility on aspects of research projects in including biology, medicine, and other related sciences.
  • Individual must possess advanced knowledge and be capable of exercising considerable latitude for independent judgment, performs non-routine and complex laboratory duties requiring advanced technical skills and proficiency for divisional faculty.
