ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: The Director of Career and Technical Education is responsible for management of the Perkins Grant in support of the college's Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs and initiatives, promoting education and engagement in the elements of Programs of Study (POS) that occur outside of the classroom, student outcomes initiatives, and strengthening secondary to postsecondary connections.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Write and manage the Perkins Grant and related, available ICCB Career and Technical Education (CTE) grants. Work closely with the Grants Development Office to complete all grant proposals and reports.

2. Ensure POS remain robust and compliant with state and federal requirements in coordination with the Academic Deans, Program Chairs and Coordinators; align related work across POS and with high schools; assist with implementing CTE initiatives, and take a leading role in FY21-24 annual planning as outlined in the Perkins Local Application.

3. Conduct CTE Chairs and Coordinators grant meetings to discuss deliverables and status in collaboration with the Grant Development Office.

4. Expand Work-based Learning within POS and map across secondary to post-secondary pathways in collaboration with high schools and district employers.

5. Participate in college, committee, and program advisory committee meetings as needed; attend conferences, professional development sessions, trainings, and related initiatives toward the achievement of grant objectives and college goals.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Associate Vice President, Academic Innovation and Workforce Education 

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years experience working in education, non-profit, or business related functions

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: Demonstrated experience in managing Carl D. Perkins Grants (Perkins) and proven track record in developing and managing successful CTE programs. Ability to research and understand federal and state laws and policies. Ability to organize interdepartmental collaboration across disciplines and divisions to coordinate program performance. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders (i.e. K-12 school-based staff, community organizations, industry partners, etc.). Exceptional critical thinking skills and ability to generate innovative solutions with a "can do" solutions oriented approach to learning and problem-solving. Experience in monitoring expenditures, procurement and inventory preferred, but not required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Ability to work with minimal supervision outside of formalized, central office setting.
