Postdoctoral Research Associate
POSTDOC IN MONKEY AND HUMAN ELECTROPHYSIOLOGY AT PRINCETON UNIVERSITY - KASTNER LAB A position for a postdoctoral or more senior research associate in human and monkey electrophysiology is available in the Neuroscience of Attention & Perception Laboratory (NA&P Lab), led by Sabine Kastner at the Princeton Neuroscience Institute. The lab studies neural mechanisms of cognition in the primate brain. Intracranial recordings from human epilepsy patients and non-human primates are conducted using identical behavioral paradigms and combined with computational approaches. For more information, please visit our web site (https://scholar.princeton.edu/napl). We are seeking an extremely motivated postdoctoral researcher with a background in human or monkey electrophysiology. Studies will include simultaneous recordings from multiple, interconnected brain regions. The researcher will gain experience with the use of laminar probes to study attention networks in a behaving animal model together with parallel studies in humans. The lab is integrated into several collaborative centers, and there is opportunity for interdisciplinary research, including deriving computational models. Postdoctoral researchers are given the opportunity to participate in other lab research endeavors, and they are expected to make a strong contribution to the lab's overall research efforts. Training also includes an introduction to various advanced neuroimaging methodologies. The term of this appointment is one year with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and funding. Essential qualifications for this position include: a Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Bioengineering, Applied Math, Computer Science, Psychology, or other closely related fields. Experience working with behaving non-human primates and/or background in electrophysiology of the visual system are preferred. All candidates must possess strong quantitative skills (e.g. Matlab, C++, Python). Applicants must apply online at https://www.princeton.edu/acad-positions/position/12061 and include a cover letter, cv, research statement and contact information for 3 references. Applications should also be emailed to Sabine Kastner ([email protected]). This position is subject to the University's background check policy.
