The Engineering Department at St. Mary’s University of San Antonio, a private, Catholic university invites nominations and applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in engineering management. Particular emphasis is in project management, cost analysis, construction management, systems engineering, management of technology, entrepreneurship/innovation management or engineering leadership area of expertise.  The position will be available as early as the Spring semester of 2021.  This position requires a Ph.D. in engineering management or a closely-related engineering discipline and a commitment to excellence in teaching both undergraduate and graduate courses, research, and service. ABD candidates with an expected completion date within one year of appointment will be considered. Applicants should be willing to engage in a variety of instructional modalities, including online instruction and evening classes, and a commitment to undergraduate and graduate students in research. This position also requires establishing working relationships with local industries for education, training, and research activities.

The Engineering Department houses six undergraduate engineering majors and five graduate programs.  The position also provides support to the other engineering majors within the Department.  For more information about the Department refer to the webpage at www.stmarytx.edu/engineering/. Opportunities for multi-disciplinary research exist within the Department and the School of Science, Engineering and Technology.  The successful candidate will demonstrate the following personal attributes: strong oral and written communication skills; highly organized; proactive; capable of working independently, yet able to work in a team; the ability to establish rapport with a range of constituents across the campus; and the ability to work with a diverse student body in a multicultural environment.
