The University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine, founded in 1946, is dedicated to training future veterinarians, providing services to animal owners and veterinarians, and conducting investigations to improve the health of animals as well as people. The college benefits pets and their owners, food-producing animals, and wildlife by offering the highest quality hospital and diagnostic laboratory services. Equipped with the most technologically advanced facilities located on a university campus, the college is dedicated to safeguarding public health by studying emerging infectious diseases that affect both animal and human health. This position performs professional level accounting work and supervises the accounts receivable and procurement operations of laboratories at The Poultry Diagnostic and Research Center

Duties/Responsibilities

Duties/Responsibilities

Use UGAMart, Purchasing Card, and OneSource to purchase and reimburse for supplies for Diagnostic and Research Labs. Work with procurement officials and vendors regarding all purchases: review accounting issues, recommend improvements, and take corrective action as needed

Percentage of time40Duties/Responsibilities

Assist Business Manager and Sr. Accountant with preparing financial reports for all labs. Consult with Business Manager and Sr. Accountant to maintain accounting integrity, review documents, and take corrective action.

Process payments for Diagnostic and Research Labs

Assist with processing intra-university payment journals

Primary backup for: answering phones, directing visitors, shipping and receiving packages, credit card payments, department egg run, and support of faculty, staff, and students.
