Position involves leading a research team on the assess effectiveness and understanding the mechanisms of SARS-CoV-2 virus infect in humans. Studies will focus on research in the areas of immunology, vaccine development, molecular biology, and/or virology to participate in a large multi-PI funded project on understanding the early immune events following virus infection in people. Fellow position will involve contemporary and emerging technologies in SARS2-CoV-2 immunology. Studies will use expertise in serology, flow cytometry, B and T cell immunology for analysis of antibodies to viral proteins, acute and memory responses to determination of B cell clonotypes, development and analysis of monoclonal antibodies for epitope mapping and co-crystallization, T cell responses to infection transcriptomic, proteomic, metabolomic and determine the underlying mechanisms of COVID-19 immunity against infection and re-infection by this virus in both healthy adult and high-risk populations. These include front line workers such as healthcare workers, nursing home subjects, police, fire, and paramedics. Older people, pregnant, people with diabetes, obesity, and other immunocompromised conditions will be examined. This position will require work at biosafety level 3 clearance.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification in Position

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in immunology, virology, microbiology, bacteriology, infectious diseases, biochemistry, biology or a related discipline. Preference will be given to candidates who have hands-on experience with virology, immunology, cell culture. Strong communication skills and fluency in written and spoken English are essential as is working in a collaborative scientific environment.

Physical Demands: Sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting up to 20 lbs and carrying up to 20 lbs. Normal for laboratory work.
