Research Scientist

The Center for Music Technology (http://gtcmt.gatech.edu) at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia invites applications for a research scientist position. The Center seeks an expert in music technology, software engineering, and human-computer interaction who can manage complex software development projects, mentor undergraduate and graduate research assistants, collaborate effectively across multi-institutional and multi-disciplinary teams, and lead the preparation of scholarly manuscripts and proposals. The primary domain of research is in music + computing education. Expertise is required in software engineering (full web stack development, scalability, agile development), human-computer interaction (UX and user testing), and music technology (algorithmic composition, interactive music). Applicants should also be experienced in scholarly research and writing and in project management.  Applicants should hold a master's degree in an allied field, such as human-computer interaction or music technology, and should have at least five years of experience in application development, including experience leading product teams.
