The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at Princeton University invites applications for a post-doctoral research associate or more senior research position. The position involves modeling coastal flooding induced by tropical cyclones. The goal is to develop better ways to estimate how coastal flood risk/probabilities will evolve with the changing climate. The research will be conducted under the direction of Professor Ning Lin, with possible collaborations with other hurricane and climate scientists. This is a one-year appointment with possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and continued funding. Candidates must have a recent Ph.D. in a relevant field of science or engineering. Individuals with experience in modeling storm surge and wave, knowledge of the tropical cyclone and climate, and a strong commitment to original as well as interdisciplinary research are encouraged to apply.
