Position Description:
Under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Lab Assistant III will manage and maintain the laboratory including plant seed stocks, DNA stocks and frozen bacterial stocks. The incumbent will actively pursue research relating to chromatin mediated regulation of plant embryonic development. Incumbent will be in charge of a genetic screen to identify new players involved in plant embryonic development, will characterize these new mutants, and collect publication quality data in the form of confocal images, in situ hybridizations, and genetic interactions with known mutants. Incumbent will also assist the PI and other lab personnel with cloning of reporter constructs via recombineering and the generation/characterization of transgenic plants.
