The SAO II provides counseling regarding undergraduate preparation, admissions requirements, requirements for the Pre-major, major and possible the minor (if it returns), areas of specialization offered and departmental policies and procedures to 2100 undergraduate majors and another 1000 students who enroll in the summer session program. Evaluate progress for the fulfillment of major requirement including departmental degree checks. Consultations with students concerning personal problems and concerns; make referrals where necessary. Coordinate with the Undergrad/Grad Advisor, the Director of Student Services and the Vice Chair with updating all catalog copy, review curriculum, course changes and descriptions. Review, rewrite, approve and recommend changes for university brochures and maintain files on statistical data pertaining to departmental enrollments, GPA distribution and degree awarded. Support UCLA outreach efforts by attending college fairs on and off campus and disseminating information about the political science program.
