Mental Health and Well-Being Professional Counselor

The University of North Alabama is accepting applications for the position of Mental Health & Well-Being Professional Counselor in the department of Student Counseling Services.  The selected candidate must be a skilled and experienced mental health counselor able to provide in-depth assessment, individual/group counseling, and crisis intervention services for UNA students; to provide training and consultation services to faculty and staff, as indicated; to develop and implement programs, workshops, and outreach presentations to campus and community entities; and, provide professional referral services to campus departments and community agencies or other professionals when appropriate. An incumbent with experience treating diverse college age populations is preferred.

Minimum qualifications for this position include: Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field is required; Minimum of four (4) years of post-degree experience in mental health counseling is required; Minimum of two (2) years of counseling experience in a college or university setting, or recognized equivalent is preferred; Demonstrated experience and clinical specialty in various co-occurring mental health issues commonly associated with college age population is preferred. Full professional licensure, current and in good standing within the State of Alabama is required.
