The successful candidate will teach courses in the department of Social Sciences as an adjunct instructor of Economics.Scope of Responsibilities
The candidate will be broadly trained and able to teach courses in the social science disciplines (Economics). The position also requires engagement in departmental or university service work, as well as scholarship and an active research agenda. Demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring students, and assume additional responsibilities as needed for the improvement and growth of the program.Essential Job Functions
Ability to teach courses in Economics.
Advise Social Science students about academic requirements and registration for classes.
Contribute to continual program improvement through annual evaluation of program outcomes and objectives.
Prepare required information for quality enhancement planning and evaluation.
Assist in ongoing program curriculum development and participate in service to the program, department, school, and the community.
Actively engage in professional activities related to Social Science disciplines, including a demonstrated commitment to a specific research agenda.
An earned doctorate in the Social Science discipline or Master degree preferably in Economics. Prior teaching experience on the junior college or university level is preferred.Licensing and Certifications

Knowledge and Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge and Skilled in Blackboard, Banner and other online or statistical packages.
Ability to operate office equipment including a calculator, copier, projector, Scranton machine, etc.
