High school graduate or equivalent with College level coursework in Business or Accounting; Three years related office experience; standard office machines; computer skills.Preferred
Bachelor’s Degree; More than three years experience with office management and experience supervising college age students; Word processing, database, and spreadsheet computer program skills.Primary Responsibilities
Performs tasks requiring skill in keyboarding and computer usage; may type correspondence, forms, statistical reports, tests, manuscripts, or proposals; compose routine correspondence and compiles reports; maintains various records and filing systems; handles and maintains confidential information; serves as receptionist; opens and routes mail; makes appointments and travel arrangements; may assist with preparation of programs or publications, maintains inventory and may order materials for department; may handle money. Answers phone calls and responds to emails in a timely manner from current students, prospective students, and university staff. May grade papers; may maintain department webpages.
Responsible for personal safety and the safety of others; must exercise due caution and practice safe work habits at all times. Position is Security Sensitive.Other Information
Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.
