Description:
A postdoctoral research position is available in the Ultrasound and Biotransport Laboratory of Professor Joseph Bull at Tulane University. This position will primarily focus on gas embolotherapy, a novel developmental treatment for cancer that involves selective ultrasound-induced formation of microbubbles in vivo for occlusion of blood flow to tumors and drug delivery. The position involves in vivo experiments. Depending on the applicant’s interests and experience, there is potential to work with in vitro biofluid mechanics experiments or theoretical/computational modeling in addition to the in vivo experimental work. Our work on this exciting cancer therapy involves ultrasound, in vivo experiments, and biofluid mechanics. Prior experience in one of these topics is preferred.
Tulane University is an exciting place for biomedical engineering. Our laboratory is located in the Tulane Institute for Integrative Engineering for Medicine (TI2EHM) in the heart of Tulane’s Health Sciences Campus, in immediate proximity of clinical departments and Medical School core facilities. This provides outstanding opportunities for collaborations between engineers and clinicians.
Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Imaging Physics, or related field.
Application Instructions:
Applicants are requested to please submit a cover letter, CV, and a list of three professional references. Applicants may email Professor Joseph Bull at [email protected] with requests for additional information.
Equal Employment Opportunity Statement:
Please Note: Tulane University has officially adopted a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy. All employees and visiting faculty must be fully vaccinated with a COVID-19 vaccination or obtain approval for a medical or religious exemption prior to beginning employment.
