Description:
A post-doctoral position is immediately available in the Division of Immunology at the Tulane National Primate Research Center, affiliated with the School of Medicine at Tulane University. Candidates will investigate the role of mucosal immune cells in chronic inflammation of HIV infection and aging using the nonhuman primate model.
Qualifications:
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Ph.D., D.V.M and/or M.D. in a biological science
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES TYPICALLY NEEDED TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY:
- Prior experience in molecular biology, microscopy, cell culture, bacterial culture and immunological assays
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Proficiency with common laboratory equipment and techniques required
- Knowledge of various software programs for both PC and Mac systems
- Organization and supervisory skills required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Prior experience with arthropod vectors
2. Prior experience with rodent models of infection
3. Grant-writing skills
