As structure lab supervisor, the individual will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the anatomy lab, including managing all donor bodies and other specimens. The lab supervisor will also serve as the compliance officer to maintain the nontransplant tissue bank license. As Anatomical Gift Program coordinator, the individual will be responsible for responding to inquiries regarding donation, maintaining the donor registry and all donor records, and helping to plan for the future needs of the program.
This is an onsite position; work for this role is performed on campus.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Structure Lab Supervisor
•Embalm or assist with embalming donor bodies
•Maintain donor bodies in lab and in cold storage
•Collect gross pathology specimens from Northwell Health facilities and maintain their records
•Maintain cleanliness and safety of lab
•Maintain compliance with NYS Department of Health guidelines (Compliance Officer) to maintain our nontransplant tissue bank license
•Assist in the collection, tracking, and maintenance of prosections
•Support (set up) weekly lab sessions for First 100 Weeks curriculum
•Support extracurricular use of lab (student clubs, college and high school groups, residency training, Brain Bee, special events, etc.)
•Support student requests for after-hours lab and specimen use
•Request purchase of lab supplies, equipment, and consumables

Anatomical Gift Program (AGP) Coordinator
•Respond to inquiries regarding potential body donations 24/7
•Speak with donor families to coordinate body donations
•Distribute literature about body donation
•Maintain donor registry (living donors) and all donor records including NYSDoH filings (certificates and permits)
•Coordinate cremation of donor bodies after use
•In coordination with director of structural sciences, plan for future needs of AGP program
•Assist in the planning of donor annual memorial service

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree required and at least 5 years of experience in the funeral service or anatomy laboratory setting. Funeral director license strongly preferred. Must able to work with faculty and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds; must possess excellent organizational skills and effective communications skills, including the ability to interact with the public in a sensitive and culturally respectful manner.
