General Maintenance Mechanic
Facilities Management is looking for a General Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. The qualified individual will be a good communicator and team player with a strong background in maintenance. We are looking for individuals with a strong understanding of customer service skills.NOTE: All maintenance employees are required to drive University vehicles on a daily basis as one of their primary job functions.

- Provides general maintenance and repair work on hydronic HVAC systems including testing water, adjusting additives, steam trap inspections, and steam trap replacement and repair.
- Provides preventive maintenance activities, diagnoses malfunctions of mechanical equipment.
- Maintains records of repairs and equipment requiring future service.
- Uses power and hand tools to perform repair and maintenance work.
- Drives trucks to transport materials such as supplies or equipment as required.
- Services equipment by oiling, greasing and adding gas as required.
- Requires working on roofs, in attics, on ladders in extreme temperatures.
Three years of general maintenance and repair experience; OR, any equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education.
Completion of a high school education or an equivalent combination of apprenticeship program, technical training and/or experience.
Requires a current Type D driver’s license upon employment.Ability to drive according to the University Fleet Safety Policy. Preferred QualificationsDemonstrated Knowledge of steam trap repair, maintenance and installation techniques.
Demonstrated Skill in reading and understanding schematics.
Experience with pumps of all types.
