This position seeks a candidate who will oversee and participate in the coordination, conduct and evaluation of clinical research studies, apply knowledge of clinical research to the study population, which includes infants, children, and adult study subjects who may have tested positive for COVID-19. Additional clinical research activities will include team coordination with other clinical research staff, the creation and population of databases, demonstration of competence in clinical research skills, problem-solving, priority setting and interactions with the faculty members leading the research activities.

Duties & Responsibilities

Due to the nature of this position, the selected applicant will need to have flexible availability Monday – Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with occasional weekend hours.

  • Participate in preparation, review, submission and maintenance of regulatory activities/submissions, ensure accuracy and timeliness to all collaborative parties.
  • Prepare for and participate in monitor visits, audits, and quality reviews (internal and external) in a professional manner.
  • Develop and implement associated projects under the guidance of the research director.
  • Collaborate effectively with others to ensure proper progress and completion of studies.
  • Maintain awareness of status of all active studies.
  • Identify potentially eligible participants.
  • Conduct in-person and remote consent according to protocol specifications.
  • Conduct pre-consent screening procedures according to protocol specifications to determine eligibility.
  • Execute the informed consent process according to Good Clinical Practices (GCP), procedures and other applicable policies.
  • Communicate with participants’ clinical team regarding study participation as indicated by protocol and/or manual of operations.
  • Coordinate biological sample collection with participants’ clinical team.
  • Collect, transport, process, and ship biological samples from participants who may have tested positive for COVID-19.
  • Document in applicable systems (tracking, electronic health, etc.) participants approached, screened and enrolled in the study.
  • Communicate challenges with recruitment and retention to the study leadership.
  • Compose clear, precise and detailed correspondence.
  • Develop a rapport with study participants.
  • Communicate study related issues to investigators, sponsors, coordinating centers, study coordinators, clinical team, managers and other institutions in a timely fashion.
  • Conduct data entry and validation to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance of the data collection process.
  • Maintain the master database files for clinical research protocols.
  • Provide high quality, compliant research. Maintain detailed records.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience is required.
