The School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences invites candidates to apply for the position of Assistant Professor of Practice in Animal Science and Food Safety. This is a year-to-year, non-tenure eligible faculty position with a total Full Time Equivalency (FTE) of 1.0, Instruction (90%) and Service (10%) Candidates must have a Ph.D. in animal sciences, nutritional sciences or a related field.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate for thisappointment will teach 24 credit hours per fiscal year, such as:

ACBS 220 Intro to Dairy Science (3 credits)
ACBS 397A Calving Management (2 credits)
ACBS 437 Food Policy and Law (3 credits)
ACBS 405 Prnc Livestock Hlth & Mgmt (3 credits)
ACBS 471 Risk Assess Mmt. & Comm (3 credits)
ACBS355 Food Processing and Food Safety Preventive Controls (3 credits)

Thedevelopment, revision, and delivery of three to four continuing education(non-degree seeking) certificate courses, equivalent to 1 credit each. Thesecourses will be taught twice a year, during the summer and winter semesters.

Teaching duties may be adjusted to meet the needs of theSchool and College.

Minimum Qualifications

PhD in Animal Sciences,Nutritional Sciences or a related field.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in teaching university courses in animalsciences, including animal physiology and dairy sciences, food policy law.

Preferred QualificationsPrior experience teaching classroom and online university-level courses in Animal Sciences.Prior experience teaching upper-level university courses in animal physiology, dairy sciences.
