Position Summary:

UCI Center for Clinical Trials (CCR) is a department under the umbrella of UCI’s School of Medicine Dean’s Office. It is an entity that services the initiation and management of clinical studies for research in 17 subdivisions. CCR offers researchers and principal investigators, services such as, coverage analysis, budget development, compliance management, and financial management for clinical research.

The Sr. Clinical Research Finance Analyst for UCI’s Center for Clinical Research will be responsible for managing a high level portfolio of clinical research studies. Management of portfolio will include financial analysis, audit, and maintenance of studies. It will involve studying contracts, facilitating budgets, and interaction and collaboration with several entities within and outside the university to ensure money is appropriately and accurately managed. This position will help in oversee the post award activity and processes for all studies.

Minimum 5 years of university/research finance related experience

Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems. Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources. Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high volume environment. Ability to independently gather required information to organize, and perform financial analysis assignments. Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports. Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. Ability to function as a member of a team.


Preferred Masters in related area
