S/he will collaborate with partners like the Online Learning Initiative (OLI) and Information Systems and Computing (ISC) on special projects to enhance the environment. Reporting to the Assistant Director for Educational Technology and Learning Management, the Catalog Support Librarian will provide system administration end-user support for the University’s public facing instance of Canvas for non-credit/continuing education/external programs for non-Penn audiences. S/he will manage the Canvas instance and integrated tools. S/he will collaborate with partners like the Online Learning Initiative (OLI) and Information Systems and Computing (ISC) on special projects to enhance the environment. S/he will manage communication to participating programs and coordinate user support.
Specific duties include:
- Provides functional and technical support and administration of the University’s public facing Canvas instance.
- Collaborates with partners in OLI and ISC on special projects to enhance the environment and serves as subject matter expert for Canvas
- Participates in campus-wide committees like the Online Directors Group and Courseware Advisory.
- Participates in activities and special projects that relate to the intersection of educational technology with teaching and learning.
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Library Information Science, Instructional Design, or a related field and related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Demonstrated experience supporting instructional technology within a college or university setting. Demonstrated initiative and commitment to proactive, courteous service. Strong analytical skills. The ability to work both independently and collegially, and to collaborate effectively. Effective oral and written communication skills and presentation skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Experience supporting Canvas or other learning management systems for public audiences strongly preferred.
