Job Description

With limited supervision, the Grants Manager A will provide pre and post-award research and financial administration support for individual investigators within the Department of Psychiatry. They will be responsible for various PI’s and work with the Senior BA in the Mood, Anxiety and Trauma Section. Responsibilities include proposal preparation, budget development, subcontract setup and monitoring, transaction approval and monitoring, reporting, and business services for research investigators. Function as resource for sponsored program guidelines, policies and procedures. A bachelor's degree in accounting or other business field and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Experience in general accounting practices is required. Strong excel skills are required. Experience with PennERA, BEN Financials, WorkDay, Business Objects, and University guidelines/policy is strongly preferred. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills are required. Ability to work independently, under pressure of deadlines, and ability to demonstrate attention to detail and a proactive work style are required.

The Grants Manager B will work more independently and actively participate in specific projects. The Grants Manager B will work on the more complicated grants including Industry Sponsored Research Agreements with multiple subprojects and sub-contracts (including T32, U01, and P30 grants. Moreover, it is expected that the Grants Manager B candidate will have a greater grants management experience than the Grants Manager A candidate, such that s/he can make greater contributions, including engaging in financial analysis. A minimum of 5-7 years related experience is required.

Both levels report to the Director, Fiscal Operations within the department.

-Pre and post award activities for Chairman and past Chairman’s grant portfolios. This includes all pre and post award activities.

-Pre and post award activities for Mood, Anxiety and Trauma Section under the direction of the Senior BA. This includes pre and post award activities – they will work closely with a Grants Coordinator and Business Administrator C.

-Assist Senior BA of Behavioral Regulation with funding in the Experimental Psychiatry Program. Assist with pre award activities as they relate to funding from NASA, NSBRI, FAA, etc…….

Qualifications

Grants Manager A: Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Grants Manager B: Bachelor's Degree with 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
