Standard working schedule: 8:30am – 5:00pm
Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the department.
The Director of Graduate Career Education will work with the Director of Career Services to develop and deliver innovative and effective graduate level career education and become a collaborative partner in career management for assigned student populations including the Professional MBA program. The Director’s primary duties include bur are not limited to: providing 1:1 coaching and support to the graduate students; creating and delivering effective programming and services to assigned populations of students; strategizing with students and colleagues to provide key guidance on all areas of career management; facilitate job placement for assigned students.Minimum Qualifications (Classified and Unclassified positions)
Master’s degree in Student Services or related field and 4 years experience in student services program area.Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business, education, or related field is preferred.
Working knowledge of marketplace for graduate business students including MBAs is preferred.
3-5 years of experience working in a corporate recruiting or job placement function or 3-5 years of experience working in a college career center is highly preferred.
Experience working with a diverse student population is also desired.
Knowledge of US employment laws is preferred.
Experience drafting and/or evaluating professional resumes is preferred.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, presentation skills, and coaching skills.
Ability to work as part of a team and an appreciation of diversityof opinion and thought
Ability to follow directions and eye for detail.
Professional attitude, good judgment, and discretion in working with students, faculty,and administrative units within DMSB and across the university.
Knowledge of international marketplace and the relevance of graduate degrees (including MBAs) in the marketplace.
Knowledge of US employment laws.
