Position Description:
The School of Dentistry seeks a Postgraduate Clinical Training Programs Officer to manage and oversee the administration of its CODA accredited and non-CODA accredited postgraduate certificate programs. CODA is the Commission on Dental Accreditation. The position will have three (3) defined primary areas of responsibilities: (1) The CODA accredited and non-CODA accredited postgraduate certificate programs (hereinafter referred to as "Program" or "Programs"); (2) Visa duties relating to the preparation of visa applications and monitoring of visa statuses; and (3) Other Duties. The position is the point of contact for approximately 120 national and international postgraduate trainees and residents (collectively, "Trainees"), prospective applicants, postgraduate certificate programs alumni, and the faculty and staff connected with the Programs.

As the primary School administrator for the Programs, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: overseeing and coordinating the application and admissions processes for the Programs; working and coordinating with Program Directors on matters related to their Programs; preparing and providing new Trainees with an orientation; working and coordinating with UCLA Extension (UNEX) to set up new Programs and courses; managing the various UNEX-related administrative and financial processes in connection with the Programs; working and coordinating with the School of Medicine House Staff Office (SOM) on resident-related issues; working with the Postgraduate Certificate and Residency Programs Committee and committee chair; serving as the primary School contact and resource for Trainees; and acting as the School's liaison with outside and University units on Program-related matters as needed.

In regard to visas, this position will act as the primary liaison with the Dashew Center for International Students & Scholars (DCISS) and the UCLA Extension International Student Office (ISO). The duties of this position include, but are not limited to, serving as the Program resource for Trainees and other individuals on visa-related matters; assisting Trainees trainees with their visa application packets; reviewing and submitting the visa application packets to DCISS or ISO for processing.

The position may also be tasked with administrative projects by the dean and the associate and assistant deans, on an as needed basis.
