The Center’s mission is to reduce cancer occurrence and death in North Carolina and the nation through research, treatment, training, and outreach.

Harnessing the immune system to prevent or treat cancer has resulted in the emergence of exciting and promising therapies. The Lab investigates novel approaches for improving the efficacy and synergy of cancer immunotherapies through integration of preclinical mouse models and patient samples. We utilize cutting-edge molecular and genetic approaches to understand how immune cells (primarily T cells) differentiate and function in the tumor microenvironment, ultimately providing insight for optimizing current immunotherapies and designing novel approaches to treat malignancy.
