The Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill requires a full time Research Associate/Project Manager to coordinate and lead its projects for the Evidence-based Practice Center (EPC). This position would report to Dr. Daniel Jonas who is the co-director of the EPC.

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, organizing, and managing projects, as well as be responsible for contributing to the general research, information and education activities of the unit. This position will require capacity to coordinate multiple concurrent tasks, including managing proposals, contracts and budgets, as well as supervising others and exceptional teamwork.

Educational Requirements

Completion of a Ph.D. or a Master’s degree in a social science, public health or a related field.

Qualifications and Experience

The position requires at least ten years of experience working in health services research. The position requires experience with managing and organizing multiple projects simultaneously. It also requires experience with systematic reviews and meta-analyses, including working with qualitative and quantitative data, using statistical software applications, and understanding and evaluating medical literature.

Preferred Qualifications:
-The preferred candidate will have a PhD in a social science, public health or related field.
-At least 10 years of public health or health services research experience.
-Management skills, including the ability to manage a staff, assist with financial oversight, and other management responsibilities.
-Experience with the UNC-CH contract and proposal process.
-Experience with RASR and UNC-CH purchasing and invoicing process.
-Experience with UNC-CH hiring and performance evaluation process.
-Experience leading systematic reviews and meta-analyses projects.
-Experience developing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals.
-Experience developing presentations for health services and public health meetings and conferences.
-Experience using Cochrane systematic review methods.
-Experience performing data extraction and analysis for systematic reviews, scoping reviews, and guideline development projects.
-Experience navigating PubMed and other library resources.
-Experience with EndNote, Excel, STATA, CMA, and SRDR.
