Job Details
This person will be responsible for the design, creation, installation, operation, and maintenance of the College’s custom programming applications under the guidance of the Director for Enterprise Applications & Systems. This person will work closely with College department heads and end users, as well as Information Technology Services (ITS) staff, to maintain and enhance the existing EIS (Employee Information System) and SIS (Student Information System) systems and assist in the migration to a new ERP system in support of the mission, vision and values of the College.

Abilities and Skills*Ability to learn new programming languages quickly. (Minimum)
*Ability to identify and solve problems in concise and practical ways. (Minimum)
*Skill to apply system and programming knowledge to solve problems by designing and coding. (Minimum)
*Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, OR, equivalent combination of education and work experience. (Minimum)
*ITIL Foundations Certification. (Desired)
*Two (2) or more years of Object-oriented application programming experience. (Minimum)
*Experience in enterprise database design and reporting. (Desired)
*Experience in two (2) or more of the following programming languages: Java, SQL, HTML, XML, VB.Net. (Desired)
*Experience integrating on-site and cloud-based software systems, preferably Azure. (Desired)
*Experience managing small to medium sized projects. (Desired)
*Experience with form development and workflow, preferably SharePoint. (Desired)
-Work with College departments to support and create innovative applications to support the mission, vision and values of the College. (Essential)
-Debug, troubleshoot, maintain and enhance existing applications. (Essential)
-Design, program and implement new applications to satisfy requirements. (Essential)
-Receive and review projects from/with the Manager and/or Director. (Essential)
-Create and maintain database files in support of approved applications. (Essential)
-Prepare test data and test applications to validate accuracy. (Essential)
-Prepare complete documentation for applications according to installation standards including program documentation, operations documentation and user documentation. (Essential)
-Maintain a high-level knowledge of both host-based and PC-based application development tools, as well as non-procedural languages supplied by the vendor. (Essential)
-Maintain knowledge of new developments in computer equipment and programming techniques through all available educational sources. (Essential)
-Provide training to department users in the operation of new or modified procedures. (Essential)
-Maintain complex programs from written and oral specifications; identify and correct problems in programs based on broad guidance. (Essential)
-Maintain knowledge of networking technologies including Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, and SNMP protocols as they relate to application development. (Marginal)
