Job Summary

MUST BE A FULL-TIME UK STUDENT IN GOOD STANDING. Peer health educators are a diverse group of students who work with the Health Education/Wellness Team at University Health Service (UHS) to support the health of University of Kentucky students by reducing risk, preventing illness, and empowering healthy behavior change.
The peer health educator will work with the Health Education/Wellness Team to provide health education outreach on topics such as stress management, body image, healthy eating, physical activity, promoting quitting tobacco, sexual health and other related wellness topics.
Peer health educators are leaders and work in teams to plan, prepare, deliver, and evaluate health education outreach programs. Peer health educators can develop skills in leadership, public speaking, peer-to-peer information sharing, outreach, marketing, and evaluation. Peer health educators also have the opportunity to work with students and professionals from diverse organizations and departments across campus. Peer health educators provide programming that is sensitive to race, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, culture, religion, and individual capabilities.
