Physical Requirements

Requires handling of light-weight objects up to 10 pounds. Sitting, standing, and/or walking for long periods of time. Performing repetitive motion tasks. Ability to navigate campus for meetings. Effectively communicating with individuals form diverse backgrounds and varied professional levels.


Typically, Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Additional work hours may be assigned as necessary.

Job Summary

This Assistant General Counsel (AGC) position in the Office of Legal Counsel’s Health Affairs Group provides legal counsel on all matters affecting the University’s hospital and clinical operations (UK HealthCare) and the health care related colleges. The AGC’s duties include drafting and reviewing contracts; providing advice concerning compliance matters; drafting, reviewing and revising policies and procedures; remaining current on all applicable federal and state laws and regulations concerning health care operations; and proactively proposing changes to current agreements, documents, and policies and procedures as necessary.
