Physical Requirements

May include standing for greater than 5 hours at a time and possibly walking several miles per day. May require the ability to reach items above shoulder level and be able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Shift

Must be available during the operating hours of Turfland Retail Pharmacy, currently Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 and Saturdays 9am-5pm. Shift hours and days of week to be discussed during interview, and are subject to change based on departmental growth and technology support needs.

Job Summary

This position will assist the pharmacist in managing pharmaceutical care workload in a fast-paced, retail pharmacy setting through medicine preparation and distribution in order to support the Turfland Retail Pharmacy and/or other retail pharmacy sites operating under UK Chandler Retail Pharmacy Services.

Primary duties will include the filling and distribution of prescriptions in a busy retail-based setting, and providing exceptional customer service to pharmacy customers and patients. Additional duties include vendor and UKIT resource coordination related to ambulatory and custom pharmacy application troubleshooting, maintenance, and/or upgrades.

This position will contribute to problem analysis in collaboration with Pharmacy and IT teams; perform and monitor hardware to provide regular maintenance of equipment (i.e., headsets, UK hardware, pharmacy automation devices, printers, etc.)

The successful Pharmacy Technician will be reliable, punctual, cooperative, and will have the ability to work well within a team and be an effective communicator. Pharmacy Technicians for ambulatory pharmacy services will play an integral role in ensuring overall customer satisfaction and that a positive patient experience is achieved for all Chandler and Good Samaritan retail pharmacy patrons.

This position requires dependability, and the ability to prioritize. The successful candidate must be reliable and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.

Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? NoPreferred Education/Experience

Two years of previous work experience (in a related field). Prefer previous pharmacy tech experience or work/classes in medical field. Hired candidate must maintain state licensure in good standing. Must have 2 years of full-time (or pro-rated) pharmacy technician experience and must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT).
