Sitting for long periods of time, occasional local and regional travel involved as the individual develops and builds relationships with diverse suppliers.

Shift

8:00 am to 5:00 pm; Monday through Friday, and with overtime occasionally as needed

Job Summary

The mission of the Purchasing Division (including Central Purchasing, Hospital Purchasing, and Capital Construction Procurement) is to provide service and support, in a legal and professional manner, to purchase quality goods and services at the best value to the University Community. In service to this mission, Purchasing is currently seeking a Supplier Diversity Manager.

The Supplier Diversity Manager serves as the University’s primary contact for supplier diversity initiatives within the Purchasing Division and across the UK enterprise. The manager is responsible for developing, preparing and executing supplier diversity plans and projects in collaboration with the UK administration, Purchasing Division staff, departments and community partners. While also monitoring performance relative to the supplier diversity goals of the University and preparing reports that detail the current status of projects and progress toward the University’s goals.

The Supplier Diversity Manager will be responsible for supporting processes and procedures to ensure consistent execution of supplier diversity procurement best practices. The manager will be responsible for developing programs to attract and identify diverse suppliers though a variety of vehicles and activities ensuring the University has a diverse pool of suppliers available to meet the University’s commitment to equality in our procurement process. In addition, the Supplier Diversity Manager is responsible for working with suppliers, University departments and Purchasing Division staff to implement supplier catalogs in the UK eProcurement system and preparing routine reports regarding spend that occurs through the tool.
